V0.26 Release!

Well, this arrived far faster than I expect, the ending of Episode 1! This is a huge milestone for both the game and myself. When I first started creating Lunar's Chosen, I never thought it'd reach the size it did, both in terms of the amount of content and popularity. If you're wondering by the way, I checked the total amount of dialogue for Episode 1 while looking into translating the game, there's over 484k words of dialogue! That's just dialogue, not code or anything else, just purely the bits you read in the in game text box. That's an insane amount of words!

Anyway onto the update, this update includes the ending of Episode 1, as well as more story for each of the main characters. It has a whole new location, the movie theatre, where you can take each of the main characters on a date once you unlock it, resulting in 9 new repeatable scenes! Speaking of repeatable scenes, I also updated Claire's footjob animation to be an actual animation!

Unrelated to content, I've also added a new feature in that you can name your save files. Most players don't really use this, so it's off by default, but if you want it, it can be toggled on in the preferences menu.

Finally, to address why this is V0.26 and not V1.0 despite being the ending of Episode 1, that's because V1.0 will come later to Itch and Steam. It won't contain any new content, but there's a few things I want to give an extra layer of polish before I call it the official release build.

Changelog:

- 12 New story scenes

- New location: cinema!

- 9 New repeatable scenes

- 3 New secret images

- Ability to toggle on/off naming saves (Default is off, can be found on the preferences menu)

- Remade Claire's footjob repeatable scene with new animations.

- Added the final scene!

- Fixed a whole bunch of typos!

Thank you for creating such a wonderful game, and I eagerly look forward to what you have in store!

A good spot to hop to the next episode.
Are the episodes going to be split into separate "games" or will they be grouped together into one? I've seen devs do it both ways.

(+1)

Episode 2 will be a separate game.

Only polishing from 0.26 until 1.0? Really? Smells like a rushed finish, tbh.

How do you figure?

Version numbering doesn't mean % of the game complete. V0.26 isn't 26% complete. It just means it's the 26th large update since the first (V0.1).  With further numbers meaning minor updates to the major update, for example V0.26.1 would likely mean no new content, but bug fixes or something similar.

There are many different version numbering systems different games use, but none of them are counting towards completion, they're simply build numbers to track changes.

Fair point. Maybe it's because I'm used to the numbering system as a counter for completion of the basic game. And maybe it's also influenced by some negative experience a while ago, where another creator here on itch had their game at version 0.33, with lots of content planned etc, just to suddenly release the final version 1.0. With doing so, no more content was added while also changing the art style for the free version to ugly drawn art and hiding the better art with detailed 3D models as well as QoL features like a gallery and formerly free hints behind a paywall.

I'm sorry if my comment came over as rude, that wasn't my intention when writing it. I enjoyed your game a lot so far, plus I'm very curious for your upcoming game "Savior of the Wasteland".
